Our Goldfields.
OHINEMURJ.
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
Wednesday. Waitdkauiu, —Since my last report the leading stope going north has got on the run of gold worked in the stope below, and .some very rich stone is being grassed. The last week has shown a decided improvement in the crushing, and exceeds anything in the previous part of the month, and I should not be surprised to see over 1500 ozs for the return. From other parts of the mine stone *f an improved quality is getting the last few days, and the show of gold in the mine at present is fully equal to anything ever seen before.
The tramway to the Welcome spur is being pushed ahead with all speed, and that combined with the good show on the Waitekauri Company, and the line weather lately, has made things look quite brisk and cheertul. There are rumours of another rich nnd in this district, but T am not at liberty at present to say more than that I believe there is good foundation for the report.
