WESLEYAN MUTUAL IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION.
The seventh, entertainment of the above Society took pUce last evening in the K^^M^S room at half-past seven o'clock. The number-ol persons looked like 300, the room b?ing well filled. The President, Rev A. Reid, occupied the cnair, and opened the proceedings by singing, reading, and prayer. The programme was avery varied one. The choir, under Mr Bridsrn leader, and Mr bmitn organist, was in the finest of trim, and gave.Eomeoi the sweetest singing we have heard for many months. The pieces of music and rendering wmcn struck us most were " The Lost Links are.Broken, a duet, by Mr Bridsoa and Mrs Taylor;' wings, Dy Miss _\ Arthur ; ■« Flower Gatherers,-' by the Misse Maribrook; and "Three F^ers by MM Garty. The readings were excellent, and the rendering by Messrs Ewington, Keven. Jessop,; Eastwood, anfl Cooper was equal to the highest anticipatioa of tw audience. Mr James Buttle gave a flrst-class recitation, beginning in rather a sameness of voice, DU gradually to the close with a modulation and powei that he had not arrived at before. The Bey J. J, Williams was capital in his remarks, FJ^fiW solid advice to young men. and pouring scathuif rebukes upon the beaux and coquettes of "c penoa The meetiag closed with singiug the Bationa Anthem.
