AUCKLAND WHALING COMPANY.
An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Auckland Whaling Company was held to-day at the office, Insurance Buildings, for the purpose of taking into consideration the propriety of winding up the Company, owing to its non-success. Mr J. S. Macfarlane presided. There was only a small attendance of shareholders. The minutes of last meeting having been read by the Secretary Captain Clayton and confirmed by the meeting, it was proposed without preface by Mr J. Watt, and seconded by Mr H. Elliott, " That the company be wound up, and the assets sold at public auction at an early date, two weeks' notice of sale being given." There was no amendment proposed, and the resolution being put to the meeting was carried nem. con., and the proceedings, which were only of a few minutes duration, terminated.
