THE THEATRE.
"Colleen Bawn," founded on an Irish novel, was the performance of last night at the Prince of Wales Theatre. The house was well patronised, and the interesting drama passed off most satisfactorily. Previous to the commencement of the performance, the band played several lively airs out of the windows, and one of the musicians sang a song, which attracted crowds across the street, and no doubt had the effect of inducing many to enter the theatre to witness the play who would not otherwise have done so. This is one of those ■well-known adaptations which always exercises a certain influence on the public, being full of variations of scene and character. Mr Hoskins represented Kyrle Daly; Mr G. Darrel, Cregan ; Miss Colville, Anne ; Miss Clara Stephenson, Eily O'Connor; Mr Hollo way, Danny Mann ; and Mr. Poole, Myles na Coppallean. The entertainment closed with a song and dance by Miss Maggie Knight, whose compact little form was seen to great advantage, as the active songstress. Miss Patty Holt, and Mr Deering, also gave songs and were applauded. This evenirig the interesting drama of Camille will be represented ; the heroine by Miss Colville 4nd the Count by Mr Hoskins.
