LATEST SOUTHERN TELEGRAMS.
NAPIER,

The Pretty Jane, hence, for Poverty Bay and Auckland on Monday last, arrived at Poverty Bay on Tuesday. While entering the river in charge of the pilot, the force of the tide swung a ship on a reef. On finding the water nearly up to the fires the pilot beached her. She is now having a new plate' fixed, and will probably sail for Auckland to-day. The railway was opened to the Spit yesterday. 1 1 The line from Hastings to Paki Paki is expected to be opened in about three
weeks
