Opening of Rowing Season. The Akaroa Boating Club will hold its annual opening of the rowing season on Labour Day, Monday next. The official function will take place at 2 p.m. and rowing races will be held during the afternoon. More interest than usual will be taken in the opening day rowing races as a Women's crew of four will challenge untried youths fouroared crews. In the evening the usual opening night dance will be held and the committee have made arrangements for an'enjoyable social evening.
