INQUEST.

An inquest was held at Duvauohelle'* yesterday morning on the body of Thomas Mariindale before Mr George Armstrong,*** jun., J.P., Acting-Coroner. The jury were Messrs W. W. Williams (foreman), W. Annie Martindale deposed: I am the daughter of dMMsed. Have lived with him for some years. My father has been in good health till Sunday. After diaper he went to the well, about 100 yards from the house Heard him calling me. He said he felt very unwell, aud thought he was dying. Helped him into the house, and he laid down. Gave him somo stimulant. He went into convulsions and died. My father was born at Newcastle, England. He was 77 years of age, and a shipwright by trade. He came .*. from Victori* to New Zea'and about forty years ago. Samuel Curry, farmer, Robinson's Bay, deposed: Miss Martindale came to my house 3.30 p.m. yesterday, an|i said her father was dead. Went to the house, found life extinct, and informed the police.

Dr Hargreaves deposed to making a posb mortem examination. Found the lungs, heart, and kidneys diseased. Death waf~ due to heart failure. The jury re'umed a verdic'. io acordance with the medical testimony. !
