SCHOOL PICNIC.
m The an.ual picnic in connection with the above school took place oa April 30th, in a paddock lent tor the occasion by Messrs Shadbolt Bros.' A number of visitors took advantage of the fine day whioh proved to be a perfect one for outdoor amusement. Early in tbe morning a number of willing hands collected in the school room—whioh had b.eu nicely decorated with flowers, ferns, evergreens, etr—to make prepara' tions for the midday meal, at which quite a number of parents, \isibors and children sat down. After doing justice to the nice things set before them, all adjourned to the paddock where spirts and games were the order of the d*y. ._;ter a long programme had been gone through, all made tbeir way back to the school where the tables had been re-laid and all thoroughly enjoyed afternron tea. Ihe committee wish to thank all the ladies and gentleman who helped during the day to make the treat a success; also, the f dlowing geutlamen, for pr Z3d given : — Messrs Wood Bros, J. fi. Doddß, A. R. Munro, T E/ Taylor, Black Beattia & Co., N. Shaw and Penrose. The usual dance in tho even'ng, which was well attended, broujht n very pleasant day to a close.
