TWO MORE ARRESTS

ATTEMPT ON LIFE OF PRESIDENT (Rec. 12.20) NEW YORK, Nov. 22. The president and former president of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party in New York were arrested to-day on a charge of conspiracy to assassinate President Truman on November 1. The men arrested were Julio Pinto Gandia, president of the party, and Juan Bernardo Lebron, former president. -V . The Federal Attorney said that Gandia had been a member of the Bar in Puerto Rico, but was disbarred, after his conviction in 1937 in connection with the attempted assassination of a Federal judge there. Gandia served six years’ imprisonment.
