BANK STAFF STARTLED

GIRL FIRES REVOLVER * (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH; Nov. 21. A* revolver shot echoing through a Christchurch bank this morning caused some consternation among the staff. • The shot was fired accidentally By a girl who had picked up a clerk’s revolver. The girl, who goes regularly to the bank each morning before it is open to the public on her employer’s business; was waiting outside a teller’s cubicle. A bank clerk who was also outside the teller’s cubicle took a revolver out of a bag and placed it on the ledge of the counter. The girl picked up the revolver and it discharged, the bullet piercing the glass partition in front of the cubicle about four feet above the ground. No one was hurt, but one of the male bank staff was’ cut very slightly on the chin by a piece of glass.
