SPEARGUN FISHING (Rec. 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The New South Wales Government has refused requests by professional net fishermen and amateur anglers to ban speargun fishing. >' After long Government investigation, the State Superintendent of Fisheries, Mr T. C. Roughley, said in his opinion speargun fishing was a clean, healthy sport, which gave pleasure to hundreds of enthusiasts right along the New South Wales coast. It was now a strongly organised pasttime, and its members were controlled by a good code of ethics.
