TERRA-COTTA HEADS ~ CALCUTTA. Indian archaeologolists have . unearthed terra-cotta heads of Hindu y gods and goddesses, believed to Tie 1500 years old, from Murshidabad district in West Bengal. According to the archaeologists, the heads bear distinctive marks of the sculpture of the reign of the Gupta kings called the “golden age” in Indian history.' The archaeologists claim that the new finds are some of the finest specimens of the terra-cotta art for which Bengal V«as once famous.
