TERRITORIAL AIR SQUADRONS

PILOTS AND NAVIGATORS TO BE COMMISSIONED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 11. Tlie Air Board announced to-night that in future pilots and navigators selected for service in the territorial squadrons of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will he appointed to commissioned rank. This follows the re-cently-stated policy to commission aircrew in the Regular Air Force on the satisfactory sompletion of flying training. The initial 14-week Territorial Air Force training period will be at the R.N.Z.A.F. station at Taieri. At the end of this period selections will be made for appointment to the R.A.F. squadrons in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, and those candidates who are successful will he commissioned in the rank of pilot officer.
