MAN BURNT TO DEATH

FIRE DESTROYS HOUSE IN NAPIER (P.A.) . NAPIER, Aril 11, The only occupant (vas burnt to death when a house at West Shore was destroyed by fire at 2.30 a.m. today. The victim was: — Edward Lewis, aged about 40, a painter, of Charles Street. He was the owner of the hou®e, which was a mddern bungalow built about four years ago. He was thb only occupant at the week-end, his wife and family being at Mahia. The house was lined with wallboard with an asbestos roof. When the fire brigade arrived just after 2.30 a.m. the house was a mass of flames and the roof had fallen in. This morning only the plaster outer wall® remained standing. The contents were destroyed. M,r Lewis’s body was found in the sitting room* of the house at 6 o’clock this morning.
