TOWN v. COUNTRY

ANNUAL MATCH ARRANGED The Canterbury Tennis Association has advised the Ashburton Sub-As-sociation that the representative team which was to have played the MidCanterbury representatives last Saturday, will now play on March 25. The annual Town versus Country tournament will lie played on April 1 at the Te Marae and Ashburton courts. On that occasion a combined team of 20 players from country clubs will play a similar team representative of town clubs. On the same day tournament trophies won during the year will be presented by the president of the Mid-Canterbury Sub-Association (Mr T. L. Crooks), and to enable this function to take place all tournament matches uncompleted will be finalised on that day at the Allenton courts. The A grade inter-club competitions has been concluded and matches to he played in the B grade next Saturday are:—Mothven v. Ashburton, at Metliven, Te Marae v. Wakanui at To Marae, Allentlon No. 1 v. Allenton No. 2 at Allenton, Highbank a bye.
