GREAT RADIO JAM
Change Of Wavelengths LONDON, March 14. The world's greatest ever radio jam. will tangle the ether tomorrow. Engineers in 25 nations will simultaneously tear up and immediately reset all wavelengths by which millions of dial twiddlers for years have steered their way from city to city and programme to programme. The object of the great switchover, called the Copenhagen Wavelength plan, is /to eliminate interference of transmitter with transmitter. Soviet jammers holding a tight curtain over Voice of America and BBC emissions to Russia will have to move fast ,to plug the changeover of about a dozen western medium wave lengths. Each of the 25 nations, Including Russia, broadcasts on at least 12 wave lengths. 300 stations operating on 121 wave lengths will shift from their accustomed places on the dials of millions of sets.
