U.S. NAVY FORCES IN PACIFIC
NEW CARRIER DIVISION TO BE CREATED WASHINGTON, March 13. The United States would soon create her fourth aircraft-carrier division in the Pacific, a Navy spokesman said to-day. The new division Avould consist for the time being of only the 27,000-ton carrier Philippine Sea. Officials said the move would provide a foundation for the expansion of carrier strength in the Pacific if and when such expansions became necessary.
