Mr C. A. Campion, chairman of the Ashburton Hospital Board, was to-day granted six months’ leave of absence by the board in order to visit England.
The Rev. W. M. Hendrie, M.A., who recently came from Scotland to take up an appointment as Youth Director of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, will arrive in Ashburton today on a short visit to the Presbytery. Before coming to New Zealand Mr Hendrie was, during the war, Warden of Overnewton Churches’ Club in Glasgow’s wartime dockland, and later, club organiser for the Church of Scotland’s Youth Committee.
