CAMERON WINS TITLE
JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP Following up a long list of outstanding successes in track and field events, the brilliant Ashburton athlete, B. Cameron, won the New Zealand junior high jump title at the national junior athletic championships held in Christchurch on Friday and Saturday. In the conditions that existed Cameron’s winning jump of off. Gin. was an excellent effort, although it was three inches below his best jump. After wining his heat in the 120 yards hurdles, Cameron was considered likely to win that title, but after establishing an early lead in the final of this event he slipped on the greasy track and crashed into the last hurdle. The race was won by E. A. Taylor, of Waikato, who eventually won two hurdles titles. With a bruised knee,* Cameron easily won the high jump.
