WANGANELLA IN GALE
HOUR LATE REACHING PORT MANY PASSENGERS SEASICK (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This. Day. Battling through a rough sea in a strong southerly gale in the Tasman off the New Zealand coastline, the Wanganella was almost - an hour overdue in landing her passengers this morning. Nearly two-thirds of the 376 passen- j gers were seasick yesterday. After ! easy going across the Tasman until she encountered the southerly storm, which passed over Wellington at the week-end, the Wanganella, according to her skipper, Captain Robert Darroch, battled with a 40 to 50 piile gale approaching New Zealand. She rolled “but not exceptionally badly for the weather,” he said. The passengers included 30 English immigrants to New Zealand. The ship carried Sprayman, the pacer which won third place in the Australian trotting championship at Melbourne, and the horses Congo Song and Precaution. \
