LICENSING CONTROL COMMISSION
SITTINGS IN CENTRAL OTAGO (P.A.) DUNEDIN, March 12. Instructed to review the distribution and redundancy of publicans’ licences and the need for tourist house licences in Wallace, Awarua and Central Otago, the Licensing Control Commission had not even left Wellington before it got some first-hand evidence about the situation in Central Otago. The commission, which will hold sittings in Roxburgh, Alexandra, Cromwell and Queenstowh next week, was somewhat tardy about hotel bookings and is unable to get accommodation at Cromwell or Queenstown. It is understood some accommodation has been found at Alexandra/ and some at Clyde, and the commission intends to travel each day to its sittings at Cromwell and Queens- . town.
