“people will Rise up soon” NEW YORK, March 11. The Chinese people would rise up soon and overthrow both the Communists and Marshal Chiang Kaishek s regime, General Li-sung-jen, the deposed Chinese President, said to-day. “These Chinese Communists were able to come to power not because of the merit of Communism, but because the regime of Marshal Chiang was rotten to the core. Marshal Chiang is hoping for a third World War to save him. The last World War saved him from the Japanese, and now he is hoping for a third World War between Russia and the United States so that he will be saved from the Communists.” . , , General Li said he had instructed General Fak Kwei, former commander of field headquarters in the Canton sector, to set off underground activities. General Li added that he planned to rally the liberal and democratic forces of China behind him. He would begin by organising Chinese living outside their country, especially those in other parts of Asia. After organising Chinese overseas he would use them to aid guerrillas in China.
