MOTOR-CYCLIST DIES FROM INJURIES
MACHINE SKIDS ON CORNER (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 12. A motor-cyclist died in»the Whangarei Hospital to-night from injuries received when his machine skidded near Te Hana this morning. Hector Black, aged 23, a plumber, of Queen Street, Onehunga, Auckland. Black was riding on the AucklandWhangarei highway, two miles north of Te Hana, with a pillion rider, when his motor-cycle skidded on a corner. He was thrown heavily on the road. The pillion rider, Joseph Norman, aged 21 ,a bus driver, of Hikurangi, was thrown into a ditch. Norman escaped with cuts and abrasions.
FARM MANAGER’S DEATH. FOUND NEAR CAPSIZED DRAY (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 12. A farm manager, Colin John Officer, of Earl’s Road, Pueatua, Kihikihi, wa£ found dead under an overturned dray this morning. The accident, which had apparently occurred yesterday, was discovered by one of deceased’s children. Mrs Officer and one child are at present in the South, Island, while four other children, aged between eight and 15 years, were at home on the farm.
