Mr Montague F. Foate has been appointed secretary of the South Island •Motor Union. An accountant by company secretary by profession he has been a councillor of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) since 1939 and honorary treasurer since 194G—P.A. The Prime Minister (the Hon. S. G. Holland) will leave Wellington for Dunedin by air on Tuesday to fulfil a number of engagements in the South Island. Mr Holland, who will be away from Wellington until March 22, will be accorded civic receptions in Dunedin, Christchurch and Blenheim. His Blenheim engagements will include an address to the annual conference of the Associated Chambers of Commerce.
