OBITUARY
THE REV. T. W. VEALIE There passed away at Lower Hutt on New Year’s Day, in his 85th year, the Rev. T. W. Vealie. Mr Vealie was minister of the Ashburton Methodist Church from 1919 to 1926, and in the closing year of his ministry the present church ,at Baring Square was opened. Mr and Mrs Vealie were both born at St. Just, Cornwall. Mr Vealie, who began his career as a teacher, commenced his ministry in the United States and came to New Zealand in. 1894. He retired from the active work of the church in 1939. Mr and Mrs Vealie'are remembered in Ashburton as in other spheres of work for their graciousness and friendliness.
