“NEVER BETTER”
NATIONAL PROSPECTS
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. “I have always tried to guard against over-optimism, hut nobody, who attended my meetings, could be other than very optimistic at the outcome of the Generali Election,” said Mr S. G. Holland to-day, reviewing impressions of the first half of his pre-election tour.
Mr Holland’s itinerary requires him to cover the length or New Zealand twice, and to-morrow he will begin the second stage, when he leaves by road for Nelson. During the past fortnight he has travelled from Auckland in the north to Invercargill in the south.
“Attendances at our meetings have been more than double those of the other _ side, and the enthusiasm appears quite boundless,” continued Mr Holland. “Without counting the chickens before they are hatched, I can say that our prospects have never been as good as they are at this moment.’”
