Wooing Electors A touch of levity was introduced toward the close of a meeting held by Mr John Granville, the Labour candidate for Hamilton, this week, by the chairman (Mr A. R. Tibby). He told hoW« Mr Granville called on an elderly woman elector, and introduced himself. “Now, John, I am sure you are a good-hearted young man, and would not see an elderly person like myself chopping the wood,” said the elector!
John did the “decent thing” and busily chopped away at the wood-pile for about an hour, after which the elderly women showed her gratitude by inviting him in for a cup of tea. When he entered the house, what did he ,find? . ■
Mrs Ross, the National candidate, was polishing the floors!
