SECOND WIN LIKELY
AUSTRALIA IN AFRICA
MATCH v. RHODESIA
(N.Z.P. A.—Copyright)
(Rec. 9.40.) CAPE TOWN, Nov. 11
Needing only 83 runs for a first-innings lead over Rhodesia, and with all their wickets intact, Australia is heading for the second first-class win of the tour.
Australia’s attack, which has been suspect lately, began to look the part against Rhodesia at Bulawayo to-day. The most pleasing feature of the'day’s play from the Australian test angle was that Lindwall showed that he is slipping into top gear. There; was the life and fire in his bowling which was missing in previous games/ lan Johnson and McCool also bowled .well.
The Rhodesian batsmen struggled all through their innings for runs, which came at a dreary pace. One opening batsman, Baldwin, was at one stage 40 minutes without scoring, and he batted 117 minutes for his 16.
The Australian openers, Morris and Moroney, put on 84 in 65 minutes before stumps. Scores.
