METHVEN LADIES’ HOCKEY CLUB PRESENTATIONS TO MEMBERS The Methven Ladies’ Hockey Club held an enjoyable social in the Anglican Hall recently in honour of six members who will represent the County at the Dominion women’s tournament to be held at Masterton next week. Items were contributed by Mesdames A. MeKendry and G. Anderson. The time was pleasantly spent in dancing to music supplied by Mr K. Cook,with extras by Mr Gordon Lock. Mr R. Duff was master of ceremonies. During the evening a presentation was made to Mesdames I. Croat, M. McCrea, F. I-leasley, M. Low and Misses D. and S. Owen by the president, Mr L. Waterreus, who wished them success at the tournament. They will leave with the Ashburton team for Masterton to-morrow. During the week-end two enjoyable hockey matches were played, the first a junior match between Methven and Beckenham, which resulted in a win for Methven by 7 goals to nil. The other was a senior game between Methven and Aranui, and this was also won by Methven by S fionis tonil. After the games the visitors were entertained at afternoon tea by the local club.
