WANTON DAMAGE

Flowerbeds in Baring Square Over a period of weeks irresponsible. persons have carried out a campaign of destruction in Baring Square, but unfortunately the offenders have not been detected. Flower beds and borders on both the eastern and western sections of the square have been badly trodden down, while two flower beds in the - central portion have also suffered considerably. There is ample evidence of feet and bicycle marks to show bow the damage was done. It has been exasperating to the curator and his staff to find all their work destroyed m this wanton manner, to say nothing of the loss of plants. Extensive damage was also done during a recent, week-end to the basketball courts in the Domain by a motorist who drove a car on to the area and indulged in broadsiding practice.
