SERIES OF ’QUAKES OCCUR
AMERICAN WEST COAST (Rec. 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 22. A series of earthquakes, described as among the worst in northern British Columbia’s history, * rocked Skcena Valley for five minutes last night. There are no immediate reports of major damage or casualties. The earthquakes ranged from Petersburg, Alaska, to Portland, Oregon. but no casualties or serious damage are reported.
