HUNT FOR SICILIAN BANDIT
POLICE CAPTURE MINIATURE “FLEET” PALERMO, August 20. The police claimed they captured a miniature “fleet” run by the'' Sicilian bandit, Salvatore Giuliano. The fleet comprisd two powerful motor-boa is and a fishing boat. The police said the bandit kept them as a possible last ditch escape and 1o increase his mobility along the Sicilian coast. The probability that the boats were intended for surprise attacks behind the police lines was not ruled out. Eight carabinieri were killed yesterday when a track in which they were travelling to battle struck an anti-tank mine. This brought to almost 90 the total number of policemen who have died at the hands of Giuliano. Government forces to-day arrested more than 200 persons in a new drive to capture Giuliano, who is known as “the Robin Hood of Sicily.”
