WOMAN DIES FROM INJURIES (P.A.)' AUCKLAND, August 21. A woman who was knocked down by a motor-car in Remuera road on Thursday evening died in the Middlemore Hospital to-day. She was Miss Ann Teresa Neha, aged 21, an employee at School, Remuera. The injured woman was admitted to hospital suffering from a compound fracture of the legs and a. possible fractured spine. .• ELDERLY MAN’S DEATH (P.A.) DUNEDIN, August 20. Struck by a car at Ravensbourne on Thursday, Edward Ashby, aged 92, of 7 Junction Road, Ravensbourne, was taken to the Dunedin Public Hospital, where he was treated for slight injuries and sent home. His condition deteriorated yesterday, and he was admitted to hospital, where he died early this morning. SEAMAN INJURED (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, August 20. The overseas vessel Australind, bound from Port Chalmers to Port Pirie, was forced to put back near Bluff last evening, after a member of the crew had been injured while the ship was passing through Foveaux Strait. The seaman was transferred to the Bluff Harbour Board’s tug Awarua, which landed him at Bluff. The Awarua had to battle her way through rough seas to reach the Australind off Stirling Point. Those on board the tug described the voyage as very unpleasant. The seaman, Charles Blackmore, aged 36, was admitted to Kew Hospital. He is reported to be suffering from concussion. His condition is now satisfactory.
