ASHBURTON SEASON ENDS METHVEN WIN FINAL FOURS Fourteen teams, representing the Methven, Rakaia, Southbridge, Geraldine, Allenton and Ashburton Bowling Clubs, competed in the annual close of season fours tournament at the Ashburton green on Saturday. At the end of the fourth round, -no team had secured the maximum number of wills, but the following slaps had each registered three successes: W. B. Thomas (Allenton), J. R. W. Smith (Methven), C. B. Gowans (Ashburton), H. N. Armstrong (Ashburton) and M. Walls (Ashburton). ’ Results of the semi-finals and final were: — n Semi-finals: Smith 8, Gowans 0, Smith 10, Thomas 0, Walls 2, Armstrong 1. . , Final: Methven (Smith, G. Waddington,/W. Lock, T. Neil) 6 beat Ashburton (Walls, A. Griffiths, L. Butterick and L. Porter) 3.
