THE WEATHER
FINE AFTER FROST Pleasantly sunny weather followed a frost of 8.1 degrees in 'Ashburton this morning. The maximum, and minomum temperatures for the 24 hours ended at 9 o’clock this morning were 60 and 33.2 degrees. The earth temperature to-day was 45.6 and the barometer measured 29.69 inches.
FAIR TO FINE OUTLOOK (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist,. at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding, the weather:— General situation: An anti-cyclone is approaching New Zealand from the west.
The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru to 5 p.m. to-morrow 1 is as follows:
Fresh south-westerlies and cloudy wmather to-day in Banks Peninsula, otherwise light to moderate variable winds and weather fair to fine, with frosts to-night and temperatures cool to moderate. Further outlook: Fair to fine.
