MILITARY LEAVE
PAY FOR CIVIL SERVANTS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 14. In order to encourage Government employees to do military training in the territorial forces, Cabinet had decided that public servants training in the armed forces might be granted full civilian pay for up to two weeks a year, or might accept service pay if annual leave or leave without pay was taken, said the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) to-day. ~ Mr donee. said he hoped the lead given by the Government would be followed widely by private firms by way of allowing employees _time off for military training and adjusting any difference between their normal pay and service pay.'
