TWELVE CHILDREN BURNED TO DEATH

Twelve Swiss children and a nurse aged 20 were burned to death when a mountain home for children at the Chateau. D’Oex was destroyed by lire to-day.'A thirteenth child was badly burned and is not expected to live. Two children were only slightly burned.
Fifteen children were asleep in the chalet when lire broke out. A spark from a wood stove set alight to clothes hung up to dry in the bathroom. In a few minutes the whole chalet was in flames.
The nurse- was overcome when she tried to save one of the children. Her aunt, the directress of the home, was taken to hospital with severe burns.
