Polar Stowaway’s Death. —Perce Blackborrow, who in 1914 stowed away in Sir Ernest Shackleton’s exploration ship Endurance, which was crushed in the ice during the attempt to reach the South Pole, has died in London. He was 54. Blackborrow spent 19 months in appalling conditions before his party was rescued after the attempt to reach the Pole. — London, January 10.
