PUBLIC APPOINTMENT
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr F. B. Stephens, who has had a notable career in the public administration in New Zealand, lias been appointed Assistant-Undersecretary for Internal Affairs and has officially taken over his duties. Since 1947 Mr Stephens has been secretary to the Local Government Commission. Mr J. F. D. Jeune is to he acting-secretary to the Commission. Mr Stephens was holder of a Rockefeller Fellowship and travelled to England, Europe and America to study public administration. For some time he has been attached to the Minister of Finance’s office.
