Inter-Club Carnival on January 29

Arrangements for the annual interclub carnival were considered at a meeting of the Methven Amateur Swimming Club, at which the president (Mr A. W. Cook) presided. It was reported that permission had been' granted by the Centi'e for the carnival to be held on Saturday, January 29. The following officials were appointed: —Referee, Mr A. Gourley; starters, Messrs A. Gourley and A. Cook; judges, Messrs J. Wootton, R. Duff and D. Handson; check starters, Messrs J. Triggs and S. Holmes; timekeepers, Messrs F. Young and C. May; competi-

tors’ stewards, Miss S. Owen and Mr S. Stone; diving judges, Messrs A. Gourley, B. Milson and N. McCrea. Miss Annette Holmes was appointed treasurer to the club, and Mr W. F. Owen assistant-secretary.

It was decided to paint the bath prior to the carnival and the secretary was instructed to order sufficient paint. It was decided that a dance following the carnival be held in the Lyndhurst flail.

It was decided to hold a club carnival to-morrow.
