NATIONAL SAVINGS
ALL TOWNS REACH QUOTAS * WELLINGTON, March 31. All of . the 352 national savings quota towns exceeded their annual targets for the financial year e)ided to-day. This is the first time all quota® have been obtained. Some towns oversubscribed their annual objectives by as much as 600 per cent. Last year 301 annual quotas were filled. Ashburton, Cheviot, Hawera, Hunterville, New Plymouth, and Weber have had consecutive weekly quota successes for all of the 337 weeks since the quota scheme was begun more than six years ago. The national savings group movement is flourishing and 400 new groups were started and 13,000,new group accounts were opened in the year. During the year 9000 new individual accounts were opened, making a total of 22,000 new national savings accounts, or 3000 more than the number of new accounts last year.
