LABOUR RETAINS SEAT LONDON, March 25. The Biigg by-election resulted: E. L. Mallalieu (Labour) .. 27,333 Anthony Fell (Conservative) . 22,744 The by-election was caused by the resignation of Mr Tom Williamson (Labour) whose majority in a straight fight at the general election was 8104.
