CARPENTERS TO RESUME (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 24. The president' of the New Zealand Carpenters’ and Joiners’ Union (Mr F. L. Langley) announced to-day after a meeting of the national council of the union that normal work would be resumed by carpenters to facilitate settlement of the dispute which gave rise to the go-slow policy in Janlary, “The national council agreed to a recommendation by the Federation of Labour to effect a settlement of the carpenters’ issues in the dispute and also agreed to a recommendation to resume normal work to facilitate such settlement,” said Air Langley. The national executive of the Federation of Labour discussed the dispute to-day, but made no statement.
