CONTRABAND SEIZED IN JAPAN

WORK OF NEW ZEALAND POLICE TOKIO, March 21. The Police of the New Zealand special investigation branch seized contraband valued at 8,000,000 yen (£40,000) from two boats which they intercepted at Shimonoseki, Southern Honshu. Both vessels carried Korean passengers, who were used rs a blind to cover smuggling. New Zealanders in a second raid impounded a 20-ton boat which, with the goods seized, will be sold by the Japanese authorities. Seventy-seven Koreans and four Japanese will stand, trial as the result of the New Zealanders’- work.
