CHAMPION SINGLES MADDISON TROPHY MATCHES - Thirty-two players, the largest entry for years, commenced play °h Saturday in the Christchurch Bowling Centre’s champion of champions singled' for the Maddison Trophy. L. L. Street (Rakaia) performed well defeating G. L. Lawrence (New Brighton), 18-17. He also beat E. N. Roberts (Elmwood), 20-14 and in the thiid round accounted for H. Kebby (United) 21-17. The final rounds will be played next Saturday.
