ASHBURTON TELEPHONE EXCHANGE A recent innovation at the telephone exchange in the Ashburton Post Office is the provision of a records clerk to handle requests Tor toll calls. Before the records clerk was installed, persons requesting toll numbers Avere switched straight to the operators at the tolls board, Avho had to note the number, etc., requested, and handle in-coming and out-going toll calls at the same time.
