CHARCOAL TO WARM IMPERIAL FEET (Rec. 10.50 a.m.) TOKIO,- March 21. Emperor Hirohito, who is on holiday 'at his country seat in the Kanagawa Prefecture, suffered a serious democratic setback yesterday. From the Imperial household, and carrying the Imperial Chrysanthemum seal, went a demand to the prefecture! government for 200 bags of charcoal to warm the imperial feet. “The request for such a quantity of charcoal is most undemocratic,” replied the prefectural government. “We are sending you 100 bags only.”
