TINWALD TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Tinwald Town Board was held recently. Mr H. B. Milliehamp pro-sided. Also present were Messrs J. Glussey,. A. B. Simpson, J. H. Harper and R. J. Tar-, botton. The South Canterbury Catchment Board advised that the administration rate for the year 1947-48, payable by the Town Board, was €75 18s 7d. The rate paid by the board in the year 1946-47 Ava.s £2B 19s> 3d. In reply to the board’s suggestion that its payments in connection with the sealing of the State Highway through Tinwald should do discontinued, because this road had been declared a State highway, the No. 15 District Highway’s Council stated that this proposition could not be considered as other local bodies were still paying off loan moneys- for the sealing of main highways. A letter was received from Mr H. G. Kemp, the board’s representative on the South Canterbury Catchment Board, advising that tbo reconstruction of the Lagmhor creek was in progress and that work on Carter’s creek would be begun shortly.
