PASSENGERS BALE OUT

INCIDENT OVER BERLIN (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) BERLIN, Mar. 18. Brigadier-General Telford Taylor, United Stales prosecutor at the Nuremberg trial, and eight other Americans baled out of a Dakota transport pi ano over Berlin today. The plane developed engine trouble soon after it took off, and the passengers, including Mrs Taylor and two other women— wives of American judges—were ordered to jump. The pilot and co-pilot remained on board and lancled the plane safely at a British airfield nearby. Mrs Taylor suffered an injured leg and others were admitted to hospital with minor injuries. A majority of the passengers landed in Russian-occupied territory, Mrs Taylor, describing the parachute jump, said she estimated that she jumped from 600 feet, She landed on a roof and skidded to the ground. “When I pulled the ripcord the parachute ring came off in my hand. I thought T was going to die. I did not know it was supposed to come off.”
