ASHBURTON’S MILK SUPPLY
Sir, —Something should ho done to secure ;i better milk supply. All the summer we have endured it, with it's peculiar smell and peculiar, taste. We scald it in the morning and stand it in water, yet very often it goes sour in the tea at G a.m. next morning. Almost half of it has to be fed to the fowls, though we are really needing , it for ourselves. Neighbours taking Hie same supply have nothing good to say about it. Could an inspector- discover the cause of all this, and give ust a decent supply. If it has to come from a distance, and has to be preservatised, could the Mayor arrange for someone to milk more cows for next summer? Sometimes I wonder if the .taste comes from milking-mach-ines not washed often enough. Bo inspectors see to that? “Clean Milk.”
